When a CMS is too complex
I spent the past few days working on Umbraco. I thought I might go back to using a CMS for this website, as I have some ideas for adding some features and functionality.
Umbraco is really powerful, but after spending hours on wiring it up by hand, I decided that it was too much work for a simple site. Writing in markdown and publishing a static site is a lot easier in my particular use case.
I still want to add some features to this site though, so I’m going to try and incorporate that under a sub-directory. That would mean moving this site from Netlify to my own server.
Let’s see how it goes. For now, I’m keeping it simple.
